Allocation Engine

The Allocation Engine is an automated background process that runs every minute to assign inventory to open sales orders.

Logic Flow

  1. Scoring: Every open order is scored against your Reservation Rules. High-priority customers or urgent dates get higher scores.
  2. Ranking: Orders are sorted by score. Highest score gets first dibs on stock.
  3. Reservation: Inventory is "Hard Allocated" to the order line. It cannot be used by anyone else.
  4. Wave Release: Based on your Allocation Rules, the order is grouped into a Pick Wave and sent to the warehouse.
